In many parts of the world, June is much more than just the beginning of summer. For the LGBTQ+ community, June is a month of celebration and activism. This month culminates with Carnival Pride on June 28, commemorating the Stonewall Riots in 1969, a milestone in the LGBTQ+ rights movement.
On the night of June 28, 1969, the police raided the famous Stonewall Inn nightclub in New York City to crack down on the gay community, especially trans people. This event marked a turning point in the fight for LGBTQ+ civil rights, giving rise to the first Pride Parade the following year. Since then, the Pride Parade has become a global celebration of diversity and inclusion.
The LGBTQ+ Mexico City Pride Parade is an emblematic event that brings together thousands of people to celebrate diversity and demand equal rights. It reminds us that the fight for human rights and the importance of moving forward are ongoing. The parade is more than just a party; it is an act of resistance and solidarity, a space where LGBTQ+ individuals can be authentic and proud of who they are.

Preparations for the 46th edition of the Mexico City Pride Parade are underway. The Colectiva de Organizaciones Civiles has announced through social networks that the event is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024. This date represents a critical moment for the LGBTQ+ community, a day to celebrate achievements and continue fighting for equality amidst a festive and exciting atmosphere.
This year's theme is "Against the oppressive State and indifferent society: We demand to live with dignity!". This theme highlights the urgency of ending discrimination and hate crimes against LGBTQ+ people and demands fair and dignified treatment for all.
The Mexico City Pride Parade route usually goes through Paseo de la Reforma Avenue towards the Zócalo, a route full of energy and color.
